I've posted a bunch of pictures from my trip to CES on flickr. As I mentioned before, I was a bit surprised by the lack of innovation. One thing that did stand out was Powercast which essentially provides wireless power. Now you can power all of your personal devices without power cables strung all over. If this technology, or something like it is built into devices, that could make things very interesting.

Since I'll be covering Corporate Social Responsibility and Green Design going forward at Forrester, a couple things stood out at the show. There were a number of vendors showcasing green products. Two of note were HP and Nokia. Both companies are using recycled plastics for their devices and Nokia claimed it's saved some big dollars by reducing the packaging sizes, resulting in lower shipping costs. I asked when they plan on manufacturing all of their phones using the new material--they said there were no specific plans.
I'm looking forward to chatting with both companies more about these initiatives in the near future. I'll be in Espoo, Finland at Nokia in a couple weeks for several days of briefings so I hope to learn more.
