BODY

Yes, that’s a ‘V’ not an ‘S’ in the title. We’ve got a fresh new year ahead of us here are a few things I hope to see happen in 2008. I know they won’t all happen, but I hope to see a few progressive companies set the tone and make some headway.

  1. Get to know your customer’s better.
  2. Measure engagement—the real engagement.
  3. Be a little more fearless with social media.
  4. Reconsider your business model.
  5. Bring on a designer at a senior level.
  6. Show some real corporate responsibility.

I used the word ‘revolution’ because even though these seem like fairly small steps, they are giant leaps for most companies. To really get anywhere, it requires a philosophical change within institutions, primarily at the top – yes, I’m talking to you CMOs!

So let’s all get off our collective asses and get to work, we're already two weeks into the new year and this time is going to fly by fast.

I’ll provide further detail for each of these over the next several days.
